In any case, battery issues are at the top of our list of future improvements. We’re also constantly optimizing the operating system to reduce battery consumption when playing games that are not too demanding. What’s even more relevant for our topic here, there are strong arguments to support the idea that mobile dominance as a gaming platform will actually increase in the following years. For example, we’ve made it possible to play refresh rates at 40 Hz, and we’re working hard to give users more control over how long their battery lasts. "We have already made improvements between the time of launch and now. The statements were accompanied by others from Pierre-Loup Griffais, one of the developers of the console, who added that the hypothetical Steam Deck 2 will have the battery issue in mind. Here's our expected schedule of Steam Sales for 2023, including the Spring Sale. Steam Winter Sale 2023 - December 21 - January 4, 2024. Steam Autumn Sale 2023 - November 21 - November 28. Steam Halloween Sale 2023 - October 28 - November 1. "The theme, size and shape will change, and it might even become a streaming machine." Steam SHMUP Fest 2023: September 25 - October 2. Unless something major changes, there will be a next generation of Steam Deck products in the future." And far from stopping there, Coomer also dared to talk about all the possible changes and improvements it could include. We won't ever get to see the book of hard data that gets passed over, but we will likely get to see all the juicy arguments based on this data which will probably be quite interesting.Full screen Valve is already talking about Steam Deck 2Īnd speaking of Valve, recently Steam Deck designer Greg Coomer assured that the company is already thinking about the successor to its recently released handheld. ![]() I don't know why to be honest, but it looks like we get a little bit of a brass tacks comparison. ![]() Judges don't specifically have to bow to the original intent of supeonas - Apple intended to get a huge chunk of data to presumably find as many commonalities with themselves as possible and benefit their own argument exclusively, but the judge made a choice that will let both Epic and Apple perform comparisons on equal lowest-common-denominator grounds.īonus intrigue: Valve has historically been extremely tight lipped about their sales data. This is kind of intriguing because the purpose is supposed to be comparing Apple Store to Steam, but this implies that we're about to compare all three. ![]() Valve said fuck no because that's a lot of work, and startlingly enough the judge disagreed and stated that they had to do it but only for four hundred some games that Valve sells in common with Epic, and only for the last three years. The justification here is that Apple figures Steam is the closest thing they have to an equal in terms of selling games online, and they want to prove that the Apple store isn't the only show in town, and isn't fucking people over any more than is industry standard. If you want to pick up some of the best PC games for cheap, Valve’s next Steam sale brings big bargains, from Cyberpunk 2077 to Assassin’s Creed and beyond. What really got my attention is when Apple subpoenaed Valve, demanding that they share sales data, pricing, profit, cuts blah blah for 30,000 games over the last five years on Steam. It would be cool if Apple lost because they take a huge cut and kind of run amok of their own app store, but its not like Epic has a clean ass here either. ![]() Now, I don't really find the above all that interesting, just sort of been watching it unfold. Epic got pissed that Fortnite and Unreal was pulled from the Apple store for having in game purchases, Epic sued to get back on, and Apple sued back because they say there was a breach of contract. The short version, for anyone who isn't following this court case, is Apple is suing and being sued by Epic over the whole shebang about Fortnite getting pulled from the Apple store.
